Homecoming

a friend of mine didnt come home after school then went to his high schools local homecoming , he didnt tell his parents or anyone else except for his none jw friends .

his sister also snuck him out to go to a concert twice .

what should i do with him as a friend ?

He will probably go on to realize that thinking for himself is not the boogey that the wts has made it out to be. Hopefully, it will lead to his decision to remove himself from the kult.

warning examples for our times was a wt release video that came out a couple of years ago.

at the times i was given it to watch so i could know the seriousness of my daughter marrying an unbeliever (any of you who have heard my story know she had never become a believer herself, so technically was an unbeliever too, thus not qualified to marry a believer either, but made guilty by association with the jws--catch 22 situation).

anyway, the video horrified me at the time.

Our 12 year old nephew no doubt has seen this video. He comes from a very spiritually strong family, and he has been brought up to believe he will be one of the last 'princes' in the borg. He is a master of the 'death stare' and other good works. He is a good little hater.

My husband and I are making book on how old he will be when he takes an assult rifle up a tower and starts picking off opposers of self-righteousness.

Why do kids...

my husband and i went to a party on saturday night for his work.

and....some kid i've never seen in my life went up to me and took a swipe at my boys!

FMZ-You're right on the kids-they must be pre-programmed to go right for the goods. Our chicks always seem to get the Rooster right in the cock-a-doodle-doos. They don't do it on purpose, because they always cry like they've been spanked when daddy's writhing on the floor in pain. I have always advised him to wear a cup when he wrassles the girlies. I think that tender area is centrally located, easy access, arms reach from anywhere, the perfect target.

We Live in a Fractal???

i was thinking lately about the manderbrolt fractal and other fractals as well.

and how every design of nature is able to be reproduced by fractals.

these pictures of the manderbrolt set,, display a remarkable scale that makes you "feel depth",,, with things getting bigger or smaller.

cool thought on life, chaos and the fractal. I've wondered just how random chaos is, and if there is not a basic set of criteria for any given 'chaotic' occurance.

Naming your children Biblical names

the thread about jael got me to thinking about all the biblical names i heard from witness children.. jael, barak, elisha, elijah, noah, matthew,.

anyone else remember new babies coming into the world and being given "biblical" names?

i thought it was hilarious when there was baby noah.

A couple that went to our hall named their firstborn Dathan. He was about a year and a half when they changed it to Nathan, after someone pointed out who Dathan was.
